Who is responsible
This website, taneltopaasia.com, and the Frame Reference tool on it are run by Tanel Topaasia, an individual filmmaker. For any privacy question or request, email taneltopaasia@gmail.com.
This website
The website is hosted on Squarespace. When you visit, Squarespace receives technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view, and may set cookies according to this site's Squarespace settings. Squarespace's own privacy policy (https://www.squarespace.com/privacy) describes that processing. If you email me, I receive your email address and whatever you write, and I use it only to reply.
Frame Reference
Frame Reference (https://www.taneltopaasia.com/frame-reference) is a free tool for personal cinematography study. You paste a link to a supported source page, choose images or videos, and download them. There are no user accounts and no file uploads.
The tool's server receives the links you submit, your format choice, and your rights confirmation. It fetches the media, prepares your download in temporary files, and deletes them after the download is sent. Nothing is kept as a library or published.
Previews and selection happen in your browser's memory and are cleared when you close or reload the page.
Failed collections are logged with a report ID, the source website's name, counts and a general error type. These logs do not contain the full links you submitted or any media.
To prevent abuse, request counts per IP address are kept in server memory for about one minute.
The tool is hosted on Render (United States). Render processes connection data and server logs under its own privacy policy (https://render.com/privacy).

Frame Reference may use Pinterest's official API to read Pins from boards owned by my own Pinterest account. Visitors never sign in to Pinterest through this site, and no visitor's Pinterest data is accessed. The API credentials are stored only on the server. Images retrieved from Pinterest are processed temporarily to build the download and are not stored or republished.
What is not done
No advertising or analytics trackers are added by Frame Reference. Personal data is not sold. There is no automated decision-making about you.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, or object to or restrict its processing, by emailing taneltopaasia@gmail.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority; in Estonia this is the Andmekaitse Inspektsioon (https://www.aki.ee/en).
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
